Somers Day Celebrations & Parade

Somers Day is an annual parade organised by the Lyme Regis and St George’s Twinning Association to commemorate Lyme Regis's former mayor and politician Admiral Sir George Somers who founded the islands of Bermuda in the name of King James VI in 1609.

Dignitaries and visitors from the town of St. Georges, Bermuda, walk with members of Lyme Regis and St George’s Twinning Association and members of the town council at 11am through Langmoor Gardens and along Marine Parade to the Cobb, where a flag raising and memorial ceremony takes place.
