Monmouth Street

Monmouth Street connects Coombe Street with Church Street. It is believed to have been named because it is thought that the Duke of Monmouth stayed at Monmouth House in 1685, with his headquarters at the George Inn which at the time would have been located where the current George's Square is, home to the war memorial garden.
